Helen Thomas died this morning.
She was no friend of a lot of sitting presidents; she asked tough questions. President Bush refused to call on her for that reason. She once went three years without being able to ask a question.
Unlike a lot of White House reporters, she wasn't content to be a stenographer.
But for all of her journalistic endeavors, Thomas will also be remembered for this, thanks to an ambush interview of an 89-year-old woman in 2010.
Her public relations firm that handled her speaking engagements couldn't drop her as a client fast enough.
