Rochester officials are considering an extension of the city sales tax as part of the local funding mechanism for its Destination Medical Center (DMC) project.
While lawmakers gave the city the authority to extend that tax without voter approval, the City Council still has to vote.
The DMC legislation involves $585 million in public investment into development of downtown Rochester.
