We're seeing the beginning of the exit of some familiar voices from NPR as the public radio organization cuts 10 percent of its staff because of financial tough times.
Jean Cochran, the Morning Edition newscaster, announced via Twitter today that she's leaving.
Buyouts generally mostly affect the veteran employees. That's certainly true in Cochran's case. She began with NPR in 1989 when it started a unit to do the hourly newscasts and is the unit's longest-serving employee.
