It was six degrees Wednesday night when someone put a black lab and her litter in a cardboard box and left it next to a dumpster in East Grand Forks, Forum Communications reports.
"I'm assuming it was too much for them to handle," said Circle of Friends Humane Society Interim Executive Director Rachael Bergman. "Normally, puppies come in four or five -- 10 is a big litter of puppies."
The puppies won't be ready for adoption until they're 8 weeks old.
