Sid Shafner, 94, gets around in a wheelchair now, like many World War II veterans these days. But it wasn't always that way.
He was a stand-up hero, part of a generation of them.
Just ask Marcel Levy, 90, who was a teenager when Shafner and his colleagues liberated him from the Dachau concentration camp.

When Shafner was in Israel earlier this month, he looked Levy up.
“He hugged me and kissed me,” Shafner told a Denver TV station. “And I hugged him and kissed him.”
Levy was the only member of his family who survived the death camps.
Shafner is the last living member of his military unit.
