Authorities had to shoot and kill a gorilla at the Cincinnati Zoo this weekend after a toddler fell into the exhibit and was grabbed by the animal.

Pitchfork Nation immediately sprung into action to blame the parents, the alternative being to wait for the facts.
Within minutes, someone created a Facebook page calling for justice for the gorilla, urging authorities to file charges against "those responsible."

A change.org petition similarly shamed the parents.
A spokesman for the Cincinnati police department said no charges would be filed in the incident, according to Cincinnati.com.
Why not? Maybe they've raised 4-year-olds and realize that anything can happen in the blink of an eye despite the best efforts of parents who are often just doing the best they can.
Also perhaps they're human.
