Rocori High School in Cold Spring, Minn., is banning the display of flags on vehicles of kids who drive to school starting on Monday.
The problem isn't the American flag. It's the Confederate flag and what it stands for which -- in 2017 -- is not the Confederacy.
But the announcement banned all flags.
The kids weren't impressed.
KNSI Radio reported the school tried to ask students not to fly Confederate flags last spring, but kids showed up at school with Confederate flags. And the school superintendent said banning just the Confederate flag would violate free speech rights.
Right idea. Wrong execution.
[update: The ban has been lifted]
