A recent study by the Urban Institute found 40 percent of Americans are unable to afford basic living necessities, such as food and rent, putting them at risk of eviction and homelessness.
MPR News Host Kerri Miller talked with Jesse McCoy II, the James Farrin lecturing fellow and supervising attorney for the Duke Law Civil Justice Clinic, and Maya Brennan, senior policy associate for the Urban Institute, about the nation's housing crisis, who is at risk of homelessness and how we can prevent evictions.
