The Bee Gees were No. 1 on the Billboard pop chart 40 years ago with the song "Tragedy."
At the time, it seemed like the Bee Gees could write hit songs at will. One day during a break from filming "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," the band wrote this song, plus "Too Much Heaven" and "Shadow Dancing." All three went on to top the charts. In fact, the Bee Gees would end up with six straight number one hits over the course of a year.
