October snow: What’s the all-time daily damage?

Up to a foot of snow could fall in parts of northwestern Minnesota this weekend, as a major storm moves in.

According to retired University of Minnesota climatologist and meteorologist Mark Seeley, the daily state snowfall record is 16 inches of snow in Baudette, Minn. back on October 18, 1916.

MPR News host Cathy Wurzer talked with Seeley about the snow and other weather topics.
