Recent spike in Mpls. gun violence part of ‘a perfect storm’

A string of shootings in Minneapolis have focused attention on gun violence in the city. One man is dead after being shot in north Minneapolis on Tuesday, a day after four people were wounded in a shooting in the area.

Meanwhile, 11 people were shot in the Uptown neighborhood on Sunday, and another man was killed in a separate incident downtown.

MPR News host Cathy Wurzer talked with Sasha Cotton, director of the Minneapolis Office of Violence Prevention, about the recent violence and the city’s plans to address it.
