The University of Minnesota is welcoming a new climate scientist to its team.

Assistant professor Heidi Roop will be developing a program with the University Extension to communicate critical climate information to the public. That includes how to prepare for the changes to come, and how to adapt to shifts we're already seeing today.

MPR News host Cathy Wurzer spoke with Roop about her research and climate change impacts across the state.
