View from the classroom: First grade in Eden Prairie

Even in a normal year, there would be all kinds of last-minute preparations going on for going back to school. But this year is anything but normal.

Just getting students in the classroom, or on a computer screen, involves a daunting level of logistics. Some districts are scaling back their reopening plans or delaying the first day of school as they try to figure out the safest way to open.

Morning Edition has been checking in with educators throughout the pandemic, and will continue doing so this fall. On Monday, host Cathy Wurzer spoke with Eden Prairie first grade teacher Maria Villavicencio. School starts in Eden Prairie on Wednesday.
