Sunshine and comfortable; dry until Friday
Lingering clouds will move out Monday morning setting the stage for a string of sunny days.

High temperatures will be in the 70s statewide Monday. It’ll be warmer the next few days, in the mid to upper 80s south and upper 70s north.

We remain dry through Thursday or even Friday. The models differ on the timing of the next chance of rain and thunder but scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible again by Friday or Saturday.

Weekend rainfall recap
Much of the region saw much needed rainfall. The Twin Cities officially saw a total of 1.34 inches of rain over the weekend with our biggest single day rainfall since the middle of May! Pockets of west-central Minnesota saw 5 to 6 inches in total, near Willmar and Spicer.

Northern Iowa near Mason City and northern Illinois just west of Rockford saw more than 6 inches of rain. In fact, the northern Illinois swath saw potentially over 10 inches according to radar estimates.

The weekend rains took a significant bite out of the big rain deficits. The 60-day precipitation anomalies noticeably changed from Friday to Sunday.
