Periods of rain will continue Friday afternoon and evening in much of southern and central Minnesota and western Wisconsin. An isolated thunderstorm is also possible. Northeastern and north-central Minnesota will have a chance of scattered showers.

Some showers could linger into Saturday morning from southeastern Minnesota into western Wisconsin. South-central Minnesota and the southeastern part of the Twin Cities metro area could see a passing Saturday morning shower.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale (NAM) forecast model shows the potential rain pattern from 6 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Saturday:
NOAA’s High-Resolution Rapid Refresh (HRRR) model shows the Saturday morning rain pattern shifted to the southeast, keeping the metro area dry:
We’ll see if the two models sync up a bit later Friday afternoon and this evening. Sunday looks rain-free on both forecast models.
Temps cooler than average
Saturday afternoon highs will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s:
Metro area highs on Saturday will be a few degrees cooler than our average Sept. 10 high of 75 degrees.
Sunday highs will be mainly in the lower 70s, with some 60s in northeastern Minnesota and parts of western Wisconsin:
