This January has seen temperatures reach highs of 45 degrees in southeastern Minnesota, and average monthly readings of 3 to 7 degrees above normal in many areas.
Minnesota has recorded the coldest temperature in the nation just twice this month.
That’s according to retired University of Minnesota climatologist and meteorologist Mark Seeley, who ran down these details and more with MPR News host Cathy Wurzer.
