Friday will be a bit cooler but near normal with increasing clouds and light winds. Some of us will see some snow showers this weekend. Warmer than normal weather persists next week.
Mild, relatively quiet pattern persists
Friday will be cooler than the last couple days but still near or even above normal in the case of northern Minnesota. Highs will range from near 30 north to the mid-30s south.
Clouds will increase Friday as a larger storm system passes to our south bringing rain and snow to Iowa and Illinois.
The weekend will bring a mix of clouds and sun with highs mainly in the upper 30s to near 40 in southern Minnesota and low 30s north. Some snow showers will be possible in portions of Minnesota late Saturday into Saturday night but by far and away the bulk of snowfall and rainfall will remain south.
The animation below shows the Saturday system clipping southeastern Minnesota and the next clipper system coming through Monday night which also looks relatively minor.
The pattern remains rather mild overall. Some models push us toward 50 degrees again in southern Minnesota.
