It’s not a Minnesota spring without snow. March signified that despite record-setting warm temperature there is still a chance of blizzards come spring.

One MPR News listener noted Walker Lake in Otter Tail County had no ice on it on March 17 but only a week later it refroze.

Climatologist and meteorologist Mark Seeley said that isn’t the first time this happened — the most recent being in 2000 and the earliest being in 1910.

MPR News host Cathy Wurzer and Seeley gave a recap of the month of March in their weekly weather chat.
