Monday’s Red Flag Warning lasts through 8 p.m. due to critical fire conditions. Winds with gusts up to 40 miles per hour, plus low humidity, create for situations in which outdoor burning is not recommended.

A mostly sunny Monday afternoon is in store with a high near 67. There is a 20 percent chance of showers Tuesday morning. It should be mostly cloudy and breezy with a high near 56.

A state senator from Woodbury has been arrested in connection to a home burglary in Detroit Lakes on Monday morning.

The U.S. Department of Justice is reviewing “critical incidents” involving the Fargo Police Department, including its policies around officer-involved shootings, the Fargo Forum reports.

It was a good weekend for high school speech students in the Fargo-Moorhead area. The Spuds at Moorhead placed first for the eighth year in a row (last week’s story details what led up to this success.)

At the North Dakota state tournament, West Fargo Horace students championed, with Fargo Davies a close second.

A proposed bill would update Minnesota’s 17-year-old electronics waste law to include all e-waste and make recycling electronics free for all Minnesotans.

Gov. Tim Walz on Monday announced the appointment of two new Supreme Court justices — Theodora Gaïtas and Sarah Hennesy — who are set to replace retiring justices Margaret H. Chutich and G. Barry Anderson.

On Monday night the Moorhead City Council will meet.

A hardcore music night is at the Aquarium on Wednesday. A social (complete with pizza and trivia) for folks in downtown Fargo is Thursday night.
