Jé Judson, who worked under Rachel Hardeman alongside Brigette Davis, published a series of slides online in April 2025 comparing passages from Hardeman’s application for a federal grant, known as an R01, to the dissertation proposal Davis shared with Hardeman years earlier. But they had been circulating through “whisper networks” in public health circles for more than a year, spurring multiple complaints to the university and the National Institutes of Health.
