Minnesota transportation officials closed highways in south-central Minnesota on Sunday evening — including a long stretch of Interstate 90 — with blizzard conditions expected to continue into early Monday.

“Snow and strong winds are creating blowing and drifting snow, significantly reducing visibility and creating hazardous travel conditions,” the Minnesota Department of Transportation reported. Those conditions could become even more hazardous after nightfall.

Those closures are expected to remain in place overnight, and until conditions improve on Monday. Find updated information on
