Still mild Friday; rising winds bring cold air Saturday
Temperatures will still be above normal Friday — but change is coming. Gusty winds will blow in colder air Friday into Saturday with below-normal temperatures by Sunday and Monday.

Drought deepens in Minnesota
Drought continues to deepen in Minnesota due to lack of snow cover and precipitation since the first of the year, with 74 percent of the state now in at least moderate drought. There’s no significant change in that pattern in sight.
Rain south, sun north Thursday with colder air this weekend
Rain will fall across southern Minnesota while northern Minnesota sees sunshine Thursday. Sun will return nearly statewide Friday, but colder air and snow showers move in for the weekend.

Super warm start to March; cooler weather pattern ahead
A pattern change brings much colder weather. We’re still searching for rain and or snow. The low-pressure system tracking through Iowa Thursday is taking a more southerly route, meaning less rainfall for southeastern Minnesota.
