Biggest tornado outbreak in Twin Cities history came May 6, 1965
“You kids get inside. Your father called and there’s a tornado coming!” MPR News meteorologist Paul Huttner recalls his mom’s words before six tornadoes tore through the western Twin Cities 59 years ago.
Warm and windy Monday with showers and some thunder possible overnight
It’ll be a warm one Monday with temperatures well into the 70s for the afternoon. Showers and a few thunderstorms are possible overnight. The week will be unsettled with more rain chances. 
A shot of rain into Saturday morning; Sunday looks glorious
Rain and thunderstorms in southern Minnesota into Saturday morning. Sunday will be the best day of the weekend.
Nice Friday before more showers arrive Saturday. Sun returns Sunday
We continue our every-other-day pattern of rain and sun. Sunshine is back Friday with pleasant temperatures. More showers are possible Friday night into Saturday before things brighten back up Sunday. 
Drought eases in parts of Minnesota thanks to another wet week
Areas of moderate and severe drought shrank some in the last week, according to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor report. The drought continues to persist in north-central and northwestern Minnesota particularly.
Soggy Thursday followed by sunshine Friday
Thursday will be soggy with rain lifting from south to north for much of the day. The sun returns Friday with the next chance of showers on Saturday before more sun returns Sunday. 
Pleasant and mostly dry Wednesday before more rain arrives
We’ll see clouds decrease Wednesday leading to a pretty nice day. More rain showers develop Wednesday night into Thursday and then again on Saturday. Friday will be nice in between.
