Classes started late on Monday morning at schools in Stewartville, as authorities continue to investigate a shooting early Friday that left a student critically injured, and the suspected gunman dead.

Planned Parenthood faces external pressures from federal budget cuts and hostile state governments. But current and former employees at the organization’s Minnesota-based Midwest affiliate complain that management is making matters worse. 

Hundreds had gathered for an event at Bondi Beach called Chanukah by the Sea, which was celebrating the start of the Hanukkah Jewish festival.

A law enforcement official tells The Associated Press that Rob Reiner’s son, Nick Reiner, has been taken into custody after deaths of the director-writer and his wife Michele. The Reiners were found dead Sunday at their home in Los Angeles. 

Authorities are again searching for a person seen on a short video clip in the Brown University shooting that killed two students and injured nine. Officials said late Sunday they released a person of interest detained earlier in the day, finding no reason to keep him in custody.

Sunday marks the first day of Hanukkah for Jewish people around the world. But many will be gathering with heavy hearts after at least 15 people were killed in what Australian officials say was a “targeted attack” on the Jewish community in Sydney over the weekend.
