Former Lynx Augustus is 1st female athlete with statue on LSU campus
Former Minnesota Lynx player Seimone Augustus has become the first female athlete at LSU to have a statue unveiled on campus. The ceremony took place Sunday before fifth-ranked LSU hosted Auburn. 
California storms bring more heavy rain, flooding and power outages
After a brief respite, a new round of heavy rains and wind gusts are lashing the state, forcing evacuations and knocking out power to tens of thousands of homes.
Mild temps linger; rain Monday, snow into Tuesday

NFL playoffs: Saturday night thriller gets action started
The rest of the NFL playoffs have a lot to live up to after Saturday’s display. The games continue with three more Sunday including Miami at Buffalo, Baltimore at Cincinnati and the New York Giants at Minnesota. The opening weekend wraps up Monday night with Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosting the Dallas Cowboys.
Goals by Zuccarello, Gaudreau help Wild top skidding Coyotes
Mats Zuccarello and Freddy Gaudreau scored 51 seconds apart in the second period, and the Minnesota Wild held off the reeling Arizona Coyotes 2-1. 
This won’t be a typical January day. High temps will run 10 to 15 degrees warmer than normal, thanks to south-southeasterly winds.
