Police responded earlier Tuesday to a report of a weapon at the school but said later in the afternoon that no weapon was found. At 3 p.m., the school said the lockdown was over and students were being released. Police say an investigation continues.

Federal prisons saw a significant rise in deaths during the pandemic years, NPR found. Of those who died from COVID-19, nearly all were elderly or had health conditions, and many had tried to get out.
Proposed contract offers raises, incentive payments to MPD officers
