Three separate buildings in Duluth were hit by lightning during storms on Sunday night, causing two fires and damage to the structures. The Duluth Fire Department said no one was injured.

A strong 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck the heart of California's wine country early Sunday morning, causing injuries, structural damage and power outages. The quake struck about six miles south of Napa and lasted 10 to 20 seconds depending on proximity to the epicenter, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It was the largest to shake the San Francisco Bay Area since the magnitude-6.9 Loma Prieta quake struck in 1989.

An early morning fire heavily damaged the historic Oliver Traphagen House, a Duluth landmark. Designed by one of the area's earliest significant architects, the three-story Victorian mansion is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
