The driver of a truck carrying anhyrdous ammonia hit by a train last week has died. Eric Westin, of Pine City, was being treated at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Students at Murdock Elementary School in west-central Minnesota are expected to return to their classrooms Wednesday after a leak of anhydrous ammonia prompted a precautionary evacuation.
Residents of Fargo-Moorhead are cleaning up sandbags and removing temporary levees after the Red River's crest last week. As it turned out, most of that preparation wasn't needed for this year's flood. Both cities are now turning their attention back to building permanent levees and flood walls.
