Drowned paddler's ashes will return to Quetico, widow says

Elaine Barber didn't expect her paddling trip to turn out the way it did. But she said she could only wait helplessly beside the churning Basswood River on Sunday, hoping her husband would make it out after their canoe capsized in the Canadian wilderness.

Bomb talk halts Greyhound bus in Woodbury

Traffic is flowing normally along Interstate 94 eastbound in Woodbury after law enforcement cleared the scene of a Greyhound bus that pulled over because the driver overheard a passenger talking about a bomb.

Okla. tornado widest on record, rare EF5

The deadly tornado that struck near Oklahoma City late last week had a record-breaking width of 2.6 miles and was the second top-of-the-scale EF5 twister to hit the area in less than two weeks, the National Weather Service reported Tuesday.
