What does legalization of marijuana mean for business owners with drug-free policies for their employees?

At an event hosted by the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce on the first day of the legislative session, MPR’s Chris Farrell moderated a talk about three issues emerging in state legislatures around the country: employer mandates around scheduling and paid leave, public options for health insurance, and legalization of marijuana for medical and recreational use.

With gridlock in Congress around these issues, state legislatures are creating a patchwork of laws and regulations for companies to follow. This event was a chance for Minnesota business owners to hear what other states have learned about the effects of these laws on businesses.

Chris Farrell talked with Neil Bradley, chief policy officer at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and Lauren Doroghazi, policy director of the Council of State Chambers.
