Despite the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention saying the best way to protect yourself and others from getting sick is to stay home, more people are starting to travel again during a global health crisis.

Some people are opting to travel by car instead of plane. Others are using Airbnb instead of hotels.

MPR News host Angela Davis spoke with travel and tourism experts about the latest trends.

MPR News senior economics contributor Chris Farrell also joined the program, as he does most Mondays, to talk about the state of the economy.

Guests:

  • Kyle Potter is the editor-in-chief of Thrifty Traveler, a digital publication about air travel.

  • Melvin Tennant is the president and CEO of Meet Minneapolis, a convention and visitors association that promotes Minneapolis tourism.

  • Chris Farrell is MPR News’ senior economic contributor.
