What you need to know about Trump's plan to deport Hmong, Lao immigrants

The Trump administration is in talks with the government of Laos to allow for the deportation of Lao and Hmong immigrants with criminal records from the United States, federal State Department officials confirmed Monday.

Richfield, Edina officers not charged in shooting death of Brian Quinones

Five police officers from Richfield and Edina will not face any criminal charges in the shooting death last September. Newly released squad vehicle footage shows Quinones holding a pointed object, as an officer shouts at him to drop a knife.

A hidden problem: youth homelessness

It’s estimated that more than 8,000 students in Minnesota’s schools are homeless. For many it’s not obvious that they are homeless, because they are able to stay with friends or family temporarily. But the impact of not knowing where they will sleep each night is severe. This hour we discuss the factors that often lead a young person to become homeless and what can be done to help.

Source: Dodgers, Twins agree on Maeda-Graterol deal

The Minnesota Twins agreed Sunday to send bullpen prospect Brusdar Graterol to the Los Angeles Dodgers for starting pitcher Kenta Maeda, according to a person with direct knowledge of the deal, five days after the initial trade with the Boston Red Sox was held up.

Winter storm drops more than a foot of snow in southern Minnesota

A storm dropped more than a foot of snow on parts of southern Minnesota on Sunday, causing difficult driving but also bringing a welcome dose of winter for skiing, sledding and other outdoor activities. St. Paul and Minneapolis have declared snow emergencies.

Janitors, security guards in Twin Cities vote to authorize strike

SEIU Local 26 President Iris Altamirano said a key issue in the labor dispute is sick time. City ordinances in Minneapolis and St. Paul mandate six sick days a year. But Altamirano said janitors and security workers elsewhere in the metro get half that.
