St. Paul school closures only one part of budget-cutting plan

Roseville school locked down after shots fired nearby

A school in Roseville was locked down briefly on Wednesday after the owner of a liquor store across the street fired shots at some robbery suspects. Although two groups of students were outside at the time, nobody was hurt.

U of M cuts energy use by 5 percent, saves $2 million

The University of Minnesota has cut energy use at its Twin Cities campus by 5 percent over the past year. That's expected to save the school more than $2 million in energy costs annually.

Twin Cities home prices stabilized in March

Twin Cities home prices showed continued signs of stabilizing in March. The median home price last month was $165,000. That's about 7 percent higher than in March of 2009. It was also up compared to February of this year.
