
Meet Lisa Ryan
Lisa Ryan is the midday editor for MPR News, where she edits breaking and daily news stories.
Before joining MPR News, Lisa worked as a legislative reporter for WUIS and Illinois public radio stations during graduate school. After graduating, Lisa hosted Morning Edition for WBOI in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She moved to Cleveland, Ohio, to work for Ideastream Public Media as an associate producer and then as a health reporter during the COVID-19 pandemic before moving to Minnesota in 2022.
Lisa has her bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism and political science from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, and a master's degree in public affairs reporting from the University of Illinois Springfield.
Lisa lives in St. Paul with her husband, two dogs and two cats. In her free time, she enjoys frequenting the St. Paul library system, biking the Twin Cities' many trails and running along the lakes.
