Harris expected to pick running mate. Tornados spotted in south-central Minnesota

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz appeared last night at a Democratic fundraiser in Minneapolis — after news reports identified him as one Kamala Harris' two finalists for her vice presidential running mate. And weather spotters reported multiple tornadoes in south-central Minnesota last night.

VP watch; AI search tool issues

Kamala Harris has enough Democratic delegate votes for the presidential nomination. But Clay Masters reports the support isn't unanimous. Melrose hit by tornado Saturday night. Walz still under consideration for Harris VP pick

Parts of Minnesota are cleaning up after severe storms over the weekend. Melrose, a city of about 3,600 people in Stearns County, was hit by a reported tornado. And Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris is expected to announce her running mate by tomorrow.  Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is on the short list.

Gov. Walz campaigns for VP Harris; Plans for rebuilding high-voltage transmission line in Minnesota

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz will be in New Hampshire this weekend, drumming up support for Vice President Kamala Harris' presidential campaign. The trip comes amid growing speculation that Harris might name Walz her running mate in the coming days. And a plan to rebuild a high-voltage transmission line from North Dakota to northeastern Minnesota is moving forward.

Apple River tubing stabbing sentencing; School board candidate filing opens

A Minnesota man was sentenced to 20 years in prison in Wisconsin today for fatally stabbing a teenager two years ago. 54-year-old Nicolae Miu was tubing on the Apple River in Wisconsin in 2022 and got into an altercation with a group of people. The filing period to run for school board candidate in November’s election is now open.

Flooding FEMA relief; Ellison seeks review of gun carry ban decision

More disaster relief is coming for individuals affected by last month's flooding. And Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison said today he’s seeking further review of a court ruling that struck down a state law banning 18- to 20-year-olds from obtaining permits to carry guns in public.
