President Donald Trump says he is bringing back Columbus Day. The holiday was first designated by Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1934 and is celebrated the second Monday in October.

Officials say a suspect has been arrested in connection with last week's theft of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s purse as she ate at a Washington, D.C., restaurant. Noem’s purse was nabbed on Easter Sunday and reportedly contained about $3,000 in cash, her keys, driver’s license, passport and Homeland Security badge.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers have in recent days deported a Cuban-born mother of a 1-year-old girl, separating them indefinitely. In two other cases, three children ages 2, 4 and 7 who are U.S. citizens along with their Honduran-born mothers were also deported.
