The importance of 'deprescribing' medications for older adults

There's an emerging concern from health experts about the over-prescription of medicine with older adults. In response, a new movement is emerging — the exploration of “deprescribing” medications for their older patients. 

Dr. Jon Hallberg, the medical director of the University of Minnesota Physicians Mill City Clinic, joined John Wanamaker on All Things Considered to explain the potential risks of over-medicating and what patients and caregivers need to know when speaking to their physicians about medication lists.
