Third-snowiest winter wraps up with a warm look ahead
Following the third snowiest season in Minnesota history, an MPR listener wanted to know: What would our snowfall totals would look like, if all the rain we received earlier in the year came in the form of snow?
According to retired University of Minnesota climatologist and meteorologist Mark Seeley, the combined precipitation totals would range somewhere between 94 to 141 inches of snowfall.
A lot of snow on the ground and warm weather on the way means melt and flooding is likely to happen. MPR News host Cathy Wurzer talked with Seeley about that possibility and more in their weekly weather chat.
