June came in hot, but weekend rains will cool it down

Although June started off warmer than usual, that won’t last. More rain is on the horizon, and we need it.

“We still could use more rainfall. And it looks like, well, it'll be kind of widely scattered this weekend,” said climatologist and meteorologist Mark Seeley.

With that rain will come cooler temperatures that will bring the state average temperature below normal.

But some far northern counties like Koochiching, Cook and Lake don’t have high probability for rainfall.

“They may get a glancing blow,” Seeley said.
