It’s been a soggy June in Minnesota, but that’s nothing new, said meteorologist and climatologist Mark Seeley.

“This is our second very wet June in a row. Last year was the second wettest June in state history,” he said.

Litchfield in Meeker County had a total 11 inches of rainfall, their wettest in history. Hokah in Houston County also had record rainfall. And Ortonville in Big Stone County and Chanhassen in Carver County experienced their second heaviest rains in recorded history.

MPR News host Cathy Wurzer spoke with Seeley about the historic showers and more in their weekly weather chat. Click the player above to hear their full conversation.
