Wednesday evening gave Minnesotans one more chance to see the Beaver Moon, the colloquial name for November’s supermoon.
A supermoon is when the moon is at its closest to Earth during the year. The moon is noticeably bigger, brighter and — in Wednesday’s case — much more vibrant than usual.
According to the Associated Press, this supermoon is the second of three this year and also the closest to Earth: just under 222,000 miles away.
The Beaver Moon was at its most stunning Tuesday evening, Wednesday morning and Wednesday evening.
