We’re still in May but it will feel summery across much of Minnesota and western Wisconsin by Saturday afternoon. Our morning showers and thunderstorms will give way to a rain-free afternoon in many areas.
Weekend weather: Summery! Some thunderstorms at times, but many dry hours
Summery temps and dew points are in our Memorial Day weekend forecast. We’ll see some thunderstorms at times, but we’ll have many more dry hours than wet hours. The severe weather outlook for the holiday weekend has been updated.
Summer heat and some storms over the weekend
Friday will be much warmer and brighter. Showers and storms are possible overnight into Saturday, and overnight Saturday into Sunday. Temperatures rise through the weekend. Expect a hot Memorial Day for southern Minnesota with scattered storms possible late in the day.
Sunshine Friday; warm weekend with some storms
Sunshine returns to almost all of Minnesota Friday. Temperatures will be much warmer, well into the 70s for most. Temperatures warm more over the weekend with some thunderstorm chances.
Warm and humid with a few storms this weekend
Highs in the 80s and a couple of passing storms this weekend. A few storms could be strong to severe.
Memorial Day weekend weather: Summery; a few thunderstorms at times
This will be a summery Memorial Day weekend. There will be some scattered thunderstorms at times, but we’ll have many more dry minutes than wet over the three-day holiday weekend.
Slow clearing Thursday; warmer this weekend
Low clouds will hang on most of the day in southeast Minnesota but the northwest will see sun. Everyone sees sun Friday with much warmer temperatures.
Decreasing clouds; much warmer heading into the weekend
Clouds will linger much of Thursday in eastern Minnesota while northwest Minnesota sees more sun. Sunshine will prevail statewide Friday with much warmer temperatures.
Taste of summer: Steamy Memorial Day emerging
This weekend will feel like early June, and even July in parts of Minnesota.
