Weekend forecast: Mostly dry; Saturday shower chance far north
It’ll feel like September this weekend. Most of us won’t see any rain on Saturday or Sunday. We have the details for you.
Last week’s heavy rain across much of Minnesota made a dent in the drought for most of the state. A storm Thursday and Friday brings a renewed rain chance to some of the areas that still desperately need precipitation.
Hurricane Ida's aftermath, recovery uneven across Louisiana
In New Orleans, an ongoing power outage after Hurricane Ida is making the sweltering summer unbearable. But in some areas outside the city, that misery is compounded by a lack of water, flooded neighborhoods and severely damaged homes.
Needed rain that spreads across Minnesota throughout the day Thursday will also be responsible for keeping temperatures cooler.
More than 20 deaths after Ida remnants slam Northeast
A stunned U.S. East Coast has woken up to a rising death toll, surging rivers and destruction after the remnants of Hurricane Ida walloped the region with record-breaking rain. At least 22 deaths have been linked to flooding from Maryland to New York from the storm's strike.
Coming off what was the hottest summer on record for many spots around the state, September is off to a more seasonable start, with highs mostly in the 70s.
Minnesota gets one final mild and mostly sunny day Wednesday before clouds and rain start to move back in.
