Winds ease up on Sunday; Wednesday will be the warmest day next week
Gusty winds are expected to linger through Saturday afternoon, and parts of southwestern Minnesota will have blowing snow at times. We have details of that, plus a look at the week ahead.

You’ll notice the gusty winds today, and parts of southwestern Minnesota will see blowing snow and reduced visibilities. Sunday is looking pleasant.
Mainly dry weekend weather. Coolest and breeziest day will be Saturday
We aren’t expecting a lot of weather drama this weekend. Temps will rebound a bit and most areas won’t see any new snow. We have the updated snow depth map.
Colder Friday, but warming up again over the weekend
It’s a rare colder-than-normal day Friday. Highs will be mostly in the teens with partly cloudy skies. Temperatures warm back up over the course of the weekend. 
Signs favor an early spring this year in Minnesota

Wednesday’s snowfall was a Valentine’s Day record for Twin Cities
The lack of snowfall this winter has been staggering, but we finally saw a significant snowfall in the Twin Cities Wednesday night. The snowfall broke a daily record and was the largest since last spring.

Behind the fresh snowfall we’ll see sunshine Thursday, but it will be breezy and cooler with a colder overnight Thursday night into Friday. Temperatures will warm back up by Sunday and Monday.
