Andre Cymone releases first new music in 27 years

Andre Cymone, who was the bass player in Prince's first touring band, has released a new solo album. It's called "The Stone." He will be playing at the 7th Street Entry in Minneapolis on Sunday. This is his first solo recording in 27 years, and we have a clip you can hear.

Last night, when Prince declared a "takeover" of the Arsenio Hall Show and appeared on most of the one-hour late-night program, his aura was perforated even more cleanly than in his recent tongue-in-cheek appearance on New Girl. The show began with a sit-down interview between Prince and Arsenio, and it was an especially straight-faced talk between the shy pop star and the giddy late-night host. By the time they moved into an audience Q&A it seemed that Prince was game for pretty much any question people could throw at him.

David Bowie and Jimmy Page recorded together before they were famous

On this date in 1965, an English group known as The Mannish Boys released their version of "I Pity the Fool." Neither the song nor the group amounted to much, but members of the band did. The singer is David Bowie who was calling himself Davie Jones at that time. And the solo guitar licks were provided by Jimmy Page, who was a prolific studio musician before his time with the Yardbirds and Led Zeppelin.

Bob Mould marks 25 years as a solo artist

"Workbook" was the first solo album released by Bob Mould. When it came out in 1989, fans of Mould's punk rock band Husker Du were surprised by his new softer sound. To mark the 25th anniversary, "Workbook" is being re-released with additional tracks and a second disc featuring a concert recorded in Chicago in 1989. Mould will be performing songs off the album tonight at the Women's Club in Minneapolis.

Nightingale Trio sing under the frozen falls

The latest installment from the North Shore Sessions, a Minnesota-based live music video series, features the Nightingale Trio singing the Ukranian widow's song, "Vdova." The trio made this recording in a cave behind the frozen Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis.
