Truck, light rail train collide on University Ave.

Just after noon the truck violated a red turn arrow from University Avenue and turned into the path of a west-bound test train, said Metro Transit spokesman John Siqveland.

Divers recover body of teen drowned in Eagle Lake

The 16-year-old disappeared Friday about 7:30 p.m. when he went underwater and never resurfaced. Divers recovered his body about 11 p.m.

Search continues for 3rd body in Va. balloon crash

A second body was recovered Saturday from the crash of a hot air balloon carrying three that drifted into a power line and burst into flames in front of hundreds of horrified spectators.

Lilydale landslide: District to pay victims' families $200K

Fourth-graders Haysem Sani and Mohamed Fofana died when part of a Mississippi River bluff collapsed on them in St. Paul's Lilydale Regional Park. Each of their families will get $80,000 in a legal settlement from the school district.

'Heartbreaking' video of final moments aboard Korean ferry

The 15-minute video, shot by high school student Park Su-hyeon, gives a chilling glimpse of the last few minutes of the mostly teenaged passengers as they begin to realize they may not escape with their lives. The video is edited and blurred to obscure the teens' faces. Park's father released the footage to to South Korean media this week.
