Parties settle lawsuit over police killing of Terrance Franklin
The family of the 22-year-old man, who was fatally shot in a south Minneapolis basement nearly seven years ago, were seeking $2 million in damages. The City Council will meet behind closed doors to discuss the settlement before opening them up to let reporters hear and record the vote.
Metro Transit adds police overtime, cameras to increase security on light rail, buses

Janitors, security guards in Twin Cities vote to authorize strike
SEIU Local 26 President Iris Altamirano said a key issue in the labor dispute is sick time. City ordinances in Minneapolis and St. Paul mandate six sick days a year. But Altamirano said janitors and security workers elsewhere in the metro get half that.
Authorities said the crash happened at about 8:15 p.m. Friday along West Seventh Street at South Homer Street, just west of Interstate 35E.
