Winter wraps up warmer than ever recorded before
From December to February, Minnesota has had the warmest meteorological winter in state history. The Twin Cities daily average temperatures surpassed records last seen in the state in the 19th century.
According to Mark Seeley, climatologist and meteorologist with University of Minnesota’s Climate Adaptation Partnership Program, February this year has seen only two to three days with colder than normal temperatures. Within the state there was over 200 daily high maximum temperature records set or tied.
