For the first time in weeks, drought across the Minnesota landscape is practically non-existent.

“And furthermore, as we wrap up the growing season this month and early next month, there’s no sign of moisture stress for our crops,” said meteorologist and climatologist Mark Seeley.

Ironically, most places are reporting below normal rainfall for the month, Seeley said. Despite this, stored soil moisture is doing just fine for most areas of the state and so, while there may be some dry patches, Minnesota crops should have enough water to pull from. 

“Our yield prospects for the year are looking pretty good,” he said.
