Grand Meadow in southern Minnesota was hit with nearly 6.5 inches of rain on Sunday.
“There's nowhere in the state that's ever had that much rain on that date,” said meteorologist and climatologist Mark Seeley.
It marks an all-time state record for the date of Aug. 17.
